You Are Not Alone: A Message for Mental Health Month

May is both my birthday month and Mental Health Month — a time that holds deep meaning for me. In this post, I reflect on my own mental health journey, the importance of breaking the silence, and the power of community, compassion, and intention in the healing process.
You Are Not Alone: A Message for Mental Health Month

May is Mental Health Month — a special time for me. It’s not only my birthday month, but also a powerful reminder of how deeply mental health is woven into my life and my work. I do my best to live by the values I teach, and to speak openly about the importance of caring for our mental and emotional well-being.

But I won’t pretend I have it all figured out. I struggle too. I'm not perfect — I'm human, just like everyone else.

Mental health is incredibly personal. Not everyone feels ready to share when they're hurting — whether it’s depression, anxiety, or simply feeling stuck in life. These challenges don’t always look the same, and healing never follows a straight line.

So here’s your gentle reminder: you are not alone.

Part of my personal and professional philosophy is to keep these conversations alive — to challenge outdated norms, to break the silence, and to remind both myself and others that real, lasting change starts in the mind.

Our bodies are made of living, responsive cells. And those cells reflect how we think, what we eat, how we move, and who we choose to share our space with. When we live with intention, feed ourselves nourishing thoughts and food, and lean on supportive communities, we open up space for healing and growth.

Whether it’s May or any other month, I hope you carry this with you:

You can get through your storm.
You are strong.
You are worthy.
You are beautiful.
You are loved.

Fear, depression, and anxiety can be managed. They can shift. They can improve — with time, with effort, with love, and with support.

I'm always here to remind myself — and you — of that.

Happy Mental Health Month.

Take care of yourself.
